Penn State Behrend is all about giving blood and saving a life. As of the end of the day on Wednesday, the Community Blood Bank was reporting a turnout of about 90 donors! That means that Behrend students, faculty and staff are taking advantage of this opportunity to save a life. Professor Rod Troester is among those who gave.
Troester has been giving regularly for at least 6 years. "I started donating to the Community Blood Bank when one of our students interned there." Troester said.
He is the new Communication Department Chairperson within the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. His Business Communication students have been instrumental in promoting the blood drive on campus.
The two-day blood drive ended yesterday. The Community Blood Bank is reporting a total of 170 donors giving a total of 151 units of blood. This year's number has surpassed last year's total of 154 donors. Professor Troester and his students can be satisfied to know that their efforts were not in vain.
Thank you to all who gave (or tried to give) the gift of life!!!
